How to Connect Resilience and Competitiveness?

Digitalization, automation, and artificial intelligence are transforming how businesses and public institutions operate. As organizations face growing regulatory requirements, rising customer expectations, and increasing cybersecurity risks, the challenge is to improve efficiency while maintaining control over data, systems, and critical business processes.

Organized in collaboration with Poslovna Akademija Finance, the event will explore how organizations can accelerate digital transformation, increase productivity, and strengthen digital resilience and sovereignty.

Among the programme topics confirmed to date, we highlight two panel discussions that will bring together perspectives on the future of the financial system and the role of digitalization in increasing productivity and strengthening digital sovereignty:

  • The panel discussion “The Future of the Digital Financial System” will address digitalization, automation, artificial intelligence, security, compliance, and management accountability. Participants will include Simon Anko (Bank of Slovenia), Haris Čečo (Comtrade System Integration), and Kasia Polok (OTP banka).
  • The panel discussion “Increasing Productivity, Digitalization, and Digital Sovereignty as a Shared Responsibility of the Public and Private Sectors” will explore how well-planned digitalization can improve business operations and the roles of government, businesses, and research institutions in this process. Speakers will include Vesna Prodnik (Telekom Slovenije) and Prof. Dr. Marko Bajec (Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana).

Discussions will focus on practical approaches to process automation, system integration, and the secure adoption of AI and cloud technologies, helping organizations improve efficiency without compromising data security, compliance, or control.

The event will address several important questions:

  • Which business processes offer the greatest potential for digitalization and automation, and how should priorities be determined?
  • How can complex processes be digitalized in regulated environments without compromising user experience, security, or compliance?
  • How can organizations get started with automation (workflows and integrations), and how can they measure its actual impact?
  • How can artificial intelligence be used in business processes without sensitive data or intellectual property leaving a controlled environment?
  • How can existing systems and data be connected to ensure that automation works across the entire process, from beginning to end?
  • What can the public and financial sectors learn from each other about process digitalization and the management of critical data?
  • How can governments, technology providers, and businesses work together to accelerate Slovenia’s digital transformation and resilience?
  • Which data and systems should organizations keep within their own environments, and which can they safely move to the cloud without losing control or becoming dependent on a single provider?

*The event is intended for decision-makers in medium-sized and large companies. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. Due to limited capacity, priority will be given to participants from these companies.
