At a time when everyone is talking about AI, you chose a topic that doesn’t follow the latest trends. Why?

I wouldn’t say that this topic is disconnected from current trends. Event processing and Kafka should work alongside with AI in process automation and real-time decision making. I’m not saying that this is the real case today, but big companies and those investing in AI are trying to make a relation between them. So, it’s a little bit different because I would like to emphasize the importance of an event driven approach in AI, as it is crucial for enabling real-time decision-making.

In which industries is this approach to data collection and processing most applicable?

It’s basically in every kind of industry which has complex and mature systems. So, it’s everywhere where system requires design of loosely coupled systems with real-time processing. What does it mean? It means that those are the big systems such as telecom industry, banking industry, government – essentially, these are all the sectors served by the company I work for.

What are the main benefits that users experience after implementing such a solution?

The main benefit for them is, as I mentioned, the design of a loosely coupled system that ensures fault tolerance. If one application fails, it does not bring down the entire system. This approach also enables fast response and processing in real time, as the systems are independent and not connected.
